Our proven project teams readily address complex and multi-disciplinary activities, providing low-risk and cost-effective solutions to the Defence force.The Opportunity:KBR is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and motivated Data Managers to support current and upcoming Defence programs across the capability lifecycle in Brisbane or Canberra.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of integrated solutions across critical Defence projects, ensuring data is effectively managed, governed, and leveraged to support performance, compliance, and decision-making.The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:Develop, implement, and maintain effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards.Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across technical, engineering, and logistics domains.Manage structured and unstructured data, including technical documentation, drawings, and specifications throughout the system lifecycle.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and information flow.Support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories with appropriate metadata, version control, and access protocols.Contribute to the development of Data Management Plans (DMPs) and ensure alignment with project milestones and lifecycle stages.Engage with Defence stakeholders and contractors to uphold consistency and quality of data and documentation.As the ideal candidate you will bring:Tertiary qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment.Sound understanding of Defence data standards and artefacts (e.g. DEF(AUST) 5692, MIL-STD-31000, technical data packages).
Proficient in data governance, lifecycle management, and configuration control.Experience using document and data management systems (e.g. Objective, Teamcenter, SharePoint).
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and written communication abilities.Australian Citizenship is required to meet security clearance requirements.NV1 security clearance (or eligibility to obtain) is highly desirable.
