Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Data Management Specialist to support current and upcoming Defence programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data management frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and traceability
  • Manage structured and unstructured data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories
  • Contribute to the development of Data Management Plans (DMPs)
  • Engage with Defence stakeholders and contractors

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment
  • Sound understanding of Defence data standards and artefacts
  • Proficient in data governance, lifecycle management, and configuration control
  • Experience using document and data management systems
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and written communication abilities
  • Australian Citizenship is required to meet security clearance requirements
  • NV1 security clearance (or eligibility to obtain) is highly desirable
