Job Title:

Defence Data Management Professional

We are seeking a skilled Defence Data Management Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence standards.

The role will involve ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across technical, engineering, and logistics domains. You will also manage structured and unstructured data, including technical documentation, drawings, and specifications throughout the system lifecycle.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and information flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across technical, engineering, and logistics domains.

  • Manage structured and unstructured data, including technical documentation, drawings, and specifications throughout the system lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and information flow.

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories with appropriate metadata, version control, and access protocols.

  • Contribute to the development of Data Management Plans (DMPs) and ensure alignment with project milestones and lifecycle stages.

  • Engage with Defence stakeholders and contractors to uphold consistency and quality of data and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment.

  • Sound understanding of Defence data standards and artefacts.

  • Proficient in data governance, lifecycle management, and configuration control.

  • Experience using document and data management systems.

  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and written communication abilities.

  • Australian Citizenship is required to meet security clearance requirements.

  • NV1 security clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
