Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist

The purpose of this role is to promote a culture of safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure internal and external regulatory compliance
    • Stay up-to-date with EHS regulations and apply knowledge to projects and tasks
  • Incident Investigation
    • Lead investigations into incidents, injuries and complaints
    • Propose corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and conduct EHS training for staff
    • Facilitate toolbox meetings and deliver EHS training as required
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Participate in developing EHS policies and procedures
    • Recommend changes and track implementation
  • Audit and Inspection
    • Organize and participate in regular site safety inspections
    • Report findings and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Risk Management
    • Assist in risk assessments and provide solutions to minimize risks
    • Support annual site risk assessments and ensure mitigation actions are implemented
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate implementation of systems such as Contractor Safety Management and Work Permits
    • Support EHS aspects of expansion and sustainability projects
    Requirements:
    • Educational qualification in EHS or a related field
    • At least 2-3 years of experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry
    • Willingness to travel across sites in Sydney and surrounding areas
    • Relevant EHS certifications
    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
    • 8-10 technical competencies relevant to your EHS specialization domain
