Career Opportunity: Kitchen Hand

Budage Pty Limited is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our Sydney Catering Team on a full time, permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities

This is a hands-on role requiring the candidate to be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of designated kitchen areas and related equipment.

Key duties include:

  • The efficient storage of supplies and equipment, adhering to receipt of goods procedure and rotating stock as necessary.
  • Providing assistance with basic food preparation as directed by the Chef(s).
  • Cleaning and maintaining all designated kitchen areas, appliances, utensils, and tools, including canopy and range hoods, fridges and cool room, grill and deep fry bays.
  • Removal of all garbage/recyclables from the kitchen area to the designated waste area.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen and operation of industrial floor cleaning machinery.
  • Monitoring stock levels and liaising with the Executive Chef and suppliers.
  • Assisting in the setup and breakdown of mobile kitchen equipment and trestle tables for events.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • An appreciation of the legislation governing food service hygiene.
  • A sound knowledge of the appropriate use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Knife/equipment handling skills.
  • A good general knowledge of the operation and cleaning of equipment.
  • The ability to work autonomously and efficiently under pressure.
  • Reliability, high organisation, and a 'can do' attitude.
