Job Title: Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills. You will work closely with children, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans that promote independence and quality of life.

  • Provide one-on-one support to children with disabilities, assisting them with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility needs.
  • Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to identify goals and develop strategies for achieving them.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the child's needs and create personalized support plans.
  • Implement and monitor interventions, adjusting as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, social work).
  • Minimum 12 months experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
