Role Overview

This senior role requires an expert in general insurance underwriting to assess and manage liability risks for clients. You will work closely with account management, business development teams, agents, and brokers to craft tailored coverage solutions through expert negotiation.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in general liability underwriting, risk management, liability broking, or related fields, along with knowledge of insurance legal/regulatory environments and risk analysis.

Key responsibilities include applying underwriting strategies to target markets and accounts, underwriting liability insurance risks following guidelines and standards, and supporting account management and procurement efforts by liaising with teams.

Additionally, you will mentor team members, provide guidance, and pursue personal development, while managing the liability portfolio and building relationships with internal and external customers.

About the Role

To succeed in this position, you must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in risk evaluation and coverage determination, as well as problem-solving skills for complex underwriting scenarios and negotiations.

A customer-focused approach is essential, along with experience in Pricing, Portfolio Management, and intermediary account management. An insurance qualification such as ANZIIF Cert IV or working towards it is desirable.
