Job Title: Liability Risk Specialist

Our team is seeking a skilled Liability Risk Specialist to assess and mitigate complex liability risks, leveraging expertise in general insurance underwriting.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with account management and business development teams, agents, and brokers to craft tailored coverage solutions through expert negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply risk assessment strategies to target markets and accounts within your area.
  • Underwrite liability insurance risks following guidelines and standards.
  • Support account management and procurement efforts by liaising with teams.
  • Mentor team members, provide guidance, and pursue personal development.
  • Manage the liability portfolio, including processing, credit management, documentation, and risk servicing.
  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external customers, including visits to agents and brokers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience in general liability underwriting, risk management, liability broking, or related fields.
  2. Knowledge of insurance legal/regulatory environments and risk analysis.
  3. Excellent communication skills for engaging with agents, brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
  4. Attention to detail and accuracy in risk evaluation and coverage determination.
  5. Problem-solving skills for complex underwriting scenarios and negotiations.
  6. Customer-focused approach to understanding and meeting client needs.
  7. Experience with Pricing, Portfolio Management, and intermediary account management.
  8. Insurance qualification such as ANZIIF Cert IV or working towards it.
