Your Role Join our supportive CGU team as a Senior Liability Underwriter focused on the Western Australia market. Use your expertise in general insurance underwriting to assess moderate to complex liability risks, leveraging your industry knowledge to deliver customer and stakeholder satisfaction. Collaborate with account management and business development teams, agents, and brokers to craft tailored coverage solutions through expert negotiation. Bring your knowledge of general liability insurance and risk management to provide exceptional customer service and responsiveness. Make your mark in the evolving liability underwriting landscape. This is a full-time permanent role based in Boorloo (Perth). Responsibilities
  1. Apply underwriting strategies to target markets and accounts within your area.
  2. Underwrite liability insurance risks following guidelines and standards.
  3. Support account management and procurement efforts by liaising with teams.
  4. Mentor team members, provide guidance, and pursue personal development.
  5. Manage the liability portfolio, including processing, credit management, documentation, and risk servicing.
  6. Build and nurture relationships with internal and external customers, including visits to agents and brokers.
About You
  1. Experience in general liability underwriting, risk management, liability broking, or related fields.
  2. Knowledge of insurance legal/regulatory environments and risk analysis.
  3. Excellent communication skills for engaging with agents, brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
  4. Attention to detail and accuracy in risk evaluation and coverage determination.
  5. Problem-solving skills for complex underwriting scenarios and negotiations.
  6. Customer-focused approach to understanding and meeting client needs.
  7. Experience with Pricing, Portfolio Management, and intermediary account management.
  8. Insurance qualification such as ANZIIF Cert IV or working towards it.
