Liability Underwriter Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Liability Underwriter to join our team in Western Australia. As a Senior Liability Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and underwriting moderate to complex liability risks.

You will utilise your mastery of general insurance underwriting principles and techniques to deliver real customer and stakeholder satisfaction. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Developing and implementing underwriting strategies with respect to target markets and accounts in area of responsibility.
  • Underwriting liability insurance risks adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Liaising with account management and business development teams to support account management and procurement.
  • Servicing and managing liability risks, including documentation issuance and general servicing.
  • Building and developing relationships with customers, including partner agent and broker visits to nurture relationships and opportunities.

About This Role

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Solid experience in general liability underwriting, insurance risk management, liability broking or related roles.
  • Experience with insurance legal and regulatory environments, as well as risk analysis and selection.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance agents, brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating general insurance risks and determining coverage terms.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address complex underwriting scenarios and negotiate terms with stakeholders.
  • A customer-centric approach to understanding client needs and providing responsive service.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Pricing, Portfolio Management and intermediary account management.
  • An insurance qualification e.g. ANZIIF Cert IV or in the process of working towards.
