Dnata catering is Australia's largest and most admired inflight catering and retail partner, specialising in inflight catering, food manufacturing, and airport lounge management.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to delivering extensive service capabilities across 16 facilities in 10 cities, employing over 4,000 people who produce over 64 million meals and service more than 250,000 flights annually.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Leading Hand to join our busy catering unit at Brisbane Airport. The successful candidate will lead by example, supervising and training team members while ensuring the highest standards of quality control, productivity, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, and induct team members within designated work areas, implementing all internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and implement quality control techniques to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Ensure that assigned area of responsibility is properly organised and productivity and performance criteria are met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and productivity in designated work areas.
  • Investigate discrepancies in stock take and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Enforce adherence to Galley Loading Plan (GPL), Cart Packing Plan (CPP) and Equipment Loading Plan (ELP) as applicable to the role.
Requirements:
  • Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day week on a full-time basis.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or related field.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fine motor skills and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Access to own transport.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS & hygiene principles, with HACCP experience an advantage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
