Director, Gig Economy Support Specialist

Job Description:

The Industrial Relations Victoria branch is seeking an experienced strategic leader to provide support for the Victorian Government's initiatives in response to the Inquiry into the Victorian On-Demand Workforce. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the on-demand work environment and be able to develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of gig workers and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the implementation of government initiatives in response to the Inquiry into the Victorian On-Demand Workforce.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support gig workers and platforms, including advice on workers' entitlements and work status.
  • Administer the Fair Conduct and Accountability Standards for the Victorian On-Demand Workforce.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic leadership in a complex customer-focused service within a government context.
  • Excellent interpersonal, representational and communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the on-demand work environment and awareness of employment issues facing workers and platforms.
