Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled journalist to join our team as a Newsreader. The successful candidate will work independently during shifts, liaising closely with the News Chief of Staff, Station Manager, Content Producers, and Presenters to ensure on-air news content is current, accurate, and consistent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing, researching, writing, editing, and presenting on-air news bulletins that are recurrent, accurate, and aligned with brand style and broadcast codes of conduct, all under tight deadlines.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment, writing and presenting live local news, sport, and weather twice an hour.
  • Providing accurate and reliable information to the public through engaging and clear news delivery.

  • A strong interest in news and current affairs, and a news reading style that suits the FIVEAA brand.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and working well under pressure.
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail in writing and presenting news content.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Role Overview:
