Job Summary

Standard Aero is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Engine Technician Apprentice. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all company policies and industry regulations.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to work performed.
  • Receive and inspect incoming engines, identifying any defects or issues.
  • Disassemble engines as required, using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Inspect engine parts, identifying any defects or issues.
  • Balance rotating components, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assemble main engines, modules, and sub-assemblies, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test engines and components, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Prepare engines for dispatch, ensuring they are properly packaged and labeled.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement programs, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Utilize IT systems to track work, manage inventory, and communicate with team members.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal departments, attending meetings as required.
  • Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety Regulations, Business Ethics, and financial controls.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices, making safety suggestions to improve the work environment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Section Lead/Manager.
Physical Demands

The individual in this role must be physically fit and possess sufficient strength to safely maneuver all parts requiring processing, without risk of personal injury or damage to the parts.

  • Must be willing to walk to various areas of the facility throughout the day.
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on a regular basis, such as safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
Work Conditions and Physical Abilities

The individual in this role will be required to work in a combination of standing, pulling, bending, crouching, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, grasping, sitting, working with computers, operating a forklift, and using specialty tools.

External Working Conditions

The individual in this role may be required to work in an environment that contains humidity, chemicals, and odors.
