About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team at Amazon. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Implement health and safety best practices in all work carried out, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, communicate effectively with affected teams, and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement by analyzing breakdowns, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements through your line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A Day in the Life

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any equipment issues. Your responsibilities will include carrying out a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment is working safely and efficiently.

You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. Additionally, you will make suggestions for long-term improvements and work alongside senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks and general building maintenance.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We are a technically-minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders.

Requirements
  • Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner)
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
  • Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations
Preferred Qualifications

While preferred qualifications are not required, experience of computer maintenance systems (CMMS), sortation machines, industrial environments, maintaining/configuring bar code scanners, and print and apply machines would be beneficial.
