External Communications Officer

Fulfil your passion for stakeholder engagement and communications by developing and implementing strategies to enhance strategic communications planning, provide advice and support through digital channels and mainstream media, and create engaging content to meet Plain English and accessibility requirements.

Key Duties:

  1. Develop strong relationships with business areas to improve strategic communications planning
  2. Provide advice and support communications and consultation activities through digital channels and mainstream media
  3. Create engaging content meeting Plain English and accessibility requirements
  4. Plan and implement event opportunities aligned with organisational policy and procedure
  5. Manage and support media engagement to promote organisational initiatives and protect reputation
  6. Liaise effectively with government agencies for external and media content clearance
  7. Evaluate and report on communications activity effectiveness using data

Key Requirements:

  1. Relevant experience in strategic communications, consultation or events management
  2. Tertiary qualifications in a communication, public relations or journalism discipline
  3. Demonstrated project management experience, campaign execution, event planning and stakeholder engagement
