About This Role

We seek a skilled Proposal Development Manager to lead the creation of compelling, compliant proposals and support our growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee end-to-end development of tender responses, ensuring timely submission and client satisfaction.
  • Analyse client requirements, crafting powerful, winning responses that showcase our expertise.
  • Facilitate bid kick-off meetings, manage timelines, and secure approvals from key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop clear, persuasive tender responses.
  • Manage post-submission clarifications, negotiate with clients, and conduct debriefs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Marketing team to create tailored pitch decks, capability statements, and case studies aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and implement improvements in pursuit coordination, knowledge management, and internal processes.
  • Liaise with Marketing & Operations to maintain and improve the proposal content library, ensuring up-to-date case studies and proposal templates align with our brand and messaging.
  • Create and maintain reusable, professional proposal templates tailored to different solutions and clients.
  • Support senior leaders in developing Growth, Client & Pursuit plans.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards tracking pursuit status, bid outcomes, and performance metrics.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, client priorities, and competitor positioning to support pursuit strategy and planning.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7 years' experience in a proposals, bids or business development support role, preferably within infrastructure, engineering, or professional services sectors.
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, structured approach, and compliance in proposal development.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate proposal inputs and collaborate across diverse teams to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills, prioritisation, and time management under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience drafting content, editing, and formatting high-quality proposals and presentations.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and PowerPoint); familiarity with design and bid management tools is desirable.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and passion for producing quality work.
  • Ability to work autonomously, strong team player contributing to a high-performance culture.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professional integrity and commitment to confidentiality managing sensitive information.
