About the Role

As a Blasting Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in the success of our drilling and blasting team on site. Reporting to the Supervisor, Drill and Blast, your primary responsibilities include day-to-day field operations, ensuring that blasting targets are met.

Maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees is essential in this position. You will also be responsible for adhering to community and environmental compliance objectives, transporting and delivering dangerous goods safely, and maintaining high-level housekeeping standards in magazines, magazine compounds, explosive vehicles, and work areas.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your experience in shotfiring operations using electronic initiation systems, as well as operational experience in mobile processing units (if applicable). Your skills in stock management and bulk material loading will also be valuable assets.

A collaborative approach to communication and the ability to work in a dynamic environment as part of an adaptive team are essential qualities for this position. Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously in the field are also highly valued.

About You
  • You hold a current NSW Security Clearance (UHL) and Shotfiring Blasting Explosives Users Licence (EUL) for Open Cut Coal Mining.
  • You have experience in shotfiring operations using electronic initiation systems.
  • Operational experience in mobile processing units (desirable).
  • You possess skills in stock management and bulk material loading.
  • You are an effective communicator with collaborative communication skills.
  • You can work in a fluid/dynamic environment as part of an adaptive team.
  • You are self-driven and able to work autonomously in the field.
