Overview

The NSW Government is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our regulatory systems and processes.

Salary

The salary for this role is $97,027 per annum plus superannuation.

Job Description

As a Regulatory Operations Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to lead the proactive analysis of licensing data, preparing it for use by stakeholders. You will work closely with colleagues across Fair Trading Operations and Government Technology Platform to ensure effective delivery of functionality aligned with business needs.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Facilitating appropriate business outcomes by applying relevant knowledge, legislation, policies, and procedures;
  • Responding to complex enquiries regarding business data;
  • Providing advice and recommendations on data quality and applying remediation at the source;
  • Responding flexibly to ensure the achievement of multiple pieces of work with tight deadlines, balancing competing demands and priorities;
  • Developing and maintaining specialised knowledge, techniques, and skills to deliver a high-quality service;
  • Reviewing and analysing complex matters, reporting new or emerging risks or trends, and contributing to changes and strategies to achieve business outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Knowledge of Fair Trading Licence schemes and Licensing business functions;
  • Experience and knowledge with Licence NSW and GLS products;
  • Possess outstanding organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise accordingly to meet strict deadlines;
  • Thrive in a busy work environment while also supporting colleagues to achieve their outputs, and pride yourself on attention to detail;
  • Be able to quickly acquire and apply technical and specialist knowledge to meet project outcomes;
  • Strong engagement capabilities and the ability to quickly build positive working relationships across a range of stakeholders;
  • Self-motivation, initiative, and experience driving projects to completion;
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to influence and negotiate productive discussions to achieve effective solutions.
