The role of Executive Leader supports councillors, staff and the community in developing and delivering a clear vision for a vibrant and sustainable area. This position will embed a culture of continuous improvement in the organisation and will provide leadership, foster and drive local economic growth at every opportunity, and demonstrate a commitment to the region, its people and the future.

The Executive Leader is responsible for overall leadership, direction and accountability for the operations and functions of the council. This key role drives the development and delivery of strategic plans, policies and governance frameworks, while ensuring sound financial management. Above all, the leader is responsible for making sure the council meets its obligations to the community and delivers on its commitments.

About You

You will be a highly regarded leader of people with a history of leading organisations and communities through periods of change, building cultures that both you and the organisation are proud of and being firmly focused on outcomes.

Familiarity with relevant legislation within the Local Government context and knowledge of changing social, political, and economic issues facing the local government sector are preferable.
