Senior Electrical Designer

We are seeking an experienced senior-level electrical designer to join our Power & Energy Team in ANZ. Based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, you will provide a high level of technical design knowledge using sound electrical design principles and specialist software skills for the preparation of electrical design models for projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients (internal and external)
  • Interpreting and documenting design requirements
  • Creating designs using complex design tools and techniques
  • Delivering designs to a high standard and tight timeframes
  • Preparing client and technical reports
  • Supporting other streams in the delivery of high-standard designs and verification
  • Supervising drawing production for assigned tasks in accordance with procedures
  • Writing complex reports and undertaking peer reviews
  • Undertaking filing and calculations in accordance with project requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification (Engineering) or relevant Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution
  • At least 8 years' professional industry experience in primary substation design
  • Mid-level design skills to undertake design on a range of small to medium projects
  • Able to successfully manage multiple varying size projects and apply business systems appropriately
  • Knowledge gained from exposure to different disciplines and project models
  • Ability to apply specific design guidelines
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to plan workloads and meet deadlines
  • Capacity to work effectively across various projects, learning new skills and knowledge quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to manage client relationships and expectations (internal and external)
