Electrical Design Lead

Are you an expert in electrical design looking to advance your career? We're seeking a skilled professional to lead our electrical and instrumentation design team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical deliverables and overseeing the work of CAD Operators and Drafters.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent communication skills, and experience working with AutoCAD and design tools. You will also be responsible for training new starters and conducting regular audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Development: Interpret engineer's conceptual designs and create detailed technical deliverables.
  • Drawing Preparation: Create and update electrical and control system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's, and Panel Arrangements.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion within budget.
Requirements
  • A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant industry experience, or a relevant electrical trade background.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Detail Draftsperson.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD (Advanced to Expert level), and/or MicroStation.
  • Experience in 3D modeling software.
  • Strong oral communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
