Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled electrical design expert to join our team. As an electrical design specialist, you will be responsible for creating detailed electrical and control system deliverables for our clients.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and preparing detailed technical deliverables;
  • Creating and updating electrical and control system drawings, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements;
  • Conducting site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings;
  • Maintaining AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures;
  • Providing training and support to new starters on MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures;
  • Ensuring consistency and compliance with design standards across Mipac and relevant Australian Standards;
  • Administering MIPAC's AutoCAD standards and library.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent), or a relevant electrical trade background;
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control design drafting;
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD (Intermediate to Advanced level);
  • Familiarity with design tools such as AVEVA Instrumentation and/or Eplan is desirable;
  • Exposure to 3D modelling software is advantageous;
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables;
  • Good oral communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and design team members;
  • Solid computer literacy and sound mathematical skills;
  • Understanding of design standards and willingness to adhere to Mipac's procedures and ISO 9001 principles;
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and contribute to timely project delivery.
