Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and design, with experience working on similar projects.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and documenting LV and ELV electrical systems, PLC/telemetry, and Instrumentation and Control
  • Assisting with motor lists, cable sizing, cable schedules & IO lists
  • Preparing electrical schematics including single line diagrams, starter schematics, PLC drawings, loop diagrams, interconnecting diagrams, General Arrangement, terminal block diagrams
  • Contributing to technical reports on small to medium projects (design reports, condition assessment reports)
  • Supporting proposal development and technical input for pursuits
  • Producing clear and accurate technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in an engineering consultancy, contractor, or asset owner environment
  • Exposure to the Water / Wastewater industry preferred, ideally within Australia
  • Working towards Registered Professional Engineer status
  • Familiarity with standards, conceptual and detailed design, and design management of electrical infrastructure
  • Awareness of electrical safety principles (e.g. protection, arc flash, earthing, hazardous areas, machine safety)
  • Experience with modelling software such as PowerCAD or PTW is a plus
