Lead Engineering and Operations Specialist

The role of Lead Engineering and Operations Specialist is to oversee the safe and effective commissioning and day-to-day operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) assets deployed across a wide area network.

This is an opportunity to establish a high-performing technical team from the ground up and drive operational excellence, technical performance, and asset reliability from energisation through to the asset's end-of-life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and lead a team responsible for commissioning and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Oversee the safe and effective commissioning and operation of BESS assets deployed across the network.
  • Drive operational efficiency, technical performance, and asset reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless transition from project delivery into ongoing commissioning and operational activities.
  • Influence industry-leading practices in grid-scale energy storage.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in engineering management or O&M leadership roles.
  • Experience establishing or scaling teams and operational systems.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning and O&M for electrical infrastructure.
  • Passion for renewable energy, innovation, and asset performance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and commercial acumen.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Recognised analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
