Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced technical professional to join our team as a Senior Technical Officer. As a key member of the workshop operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Modern Manufacturing Workshop, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of bespoke manufacturing solutions.

You will work closely with researchers, academics, students, and industry partners to enable high-precision fabrication, rapid prototyping, and custom solutions that bring big ideas to life. Your expertise will be invaluable in driving innovation and excellence in our workshop operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree or trade qualification with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in Engineering; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Specialist skills and experience in delivery of high-quality design and manufacturing across all disciplines in Engineering technical services in the higher education or a complex organisation within a relevant field. Experience supervising an engineering workshop would be highly regarded.
