Pmld Support Assistant Job Opportunity

Are you a caring and supportive professional with a passion for helping children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? We are seeking a dedicated Pmld Support Assistant to work in a specialist school environment catering to pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with PMLD and associated physical or medical needs.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, utilizing specialized equipment and communication aids as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
  • Contribute to creating and implementing personalized care plans, aligning with individual student needs and goals.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex SEN.
  • Ability to provide manual handling and personal care support, with a willingness to receive training if necessary.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to inclusive education.
  • Comfortable using alternative communication methods, such as Makaton or PECS.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or a commitment to applying for one.
