About the Role

The Senior Policy Officer will play a key role in the National Policy Reform team, responsible for developing and reviewing strategic national and state policy and advice for government and non-government schools and post-secondary education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review policy proposals and options to ensure effective decision-making
  • Conduct high-level research and analysis to inform policy development
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Take initiative and effect change in the policy development process
Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
  • High-level organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet competing deadlines
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
