Senior Policy Officer

The Senior Policy Officer will conduct reviews of children and young people in out of home care, strategic inquiries, research and projects relating to community services efficiently and with a high degree of expertise. The role provides policy analysis and strategic advice to senior staff on emerging issues relating to community services and strategies to address them.
About You
You will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as social work, social welfare, psychology, social sciences, play therapy and demonstrated extensive experience in community services, including child protection and Out of Home Care services. You will have knowledge of issues, policy, research, and best practice in Out of Home Care. You will have a proven high-level ability to think critically, analyse information, and develop recommendations. You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience producing high quality, complex correspondence and reports while managing a high workload and competing priorities. You will have experience and skills in interacting with children and young people and will be able to explore and understand their experiences from a trauma informed perspective.
