About the Role

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Officer to join our team in Parramatta. As a key member of our Early Childhood Education Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services (QARS) directorate, you will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory requirements are embedded into early childhood education sector policy and practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies to enhance regulatory requirements and policy development.
  • Provide high-level strategic advice on regulatory issues to support best practice regulation of NSW early childhood education and care services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote quality outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
  • Experience in state or federal government policy development.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Early Childhood Teaching, and/or Communications.
