About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our Melbourne Buildings & Places team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking hydraulic design through calculations and analysis, providing solutions to clients on a range of projects.

As a Senior Hydraulic Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including aviation, health, commercial, and defense. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers on major projects and help support junior engineers within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake hydraulic design through calculations and analysis using technical knowledge to provide solutions to clients on a range of projects.
  • Use experience to deliver projects and manage client relationships, consulting with various stakeholders on key project drivers to determine the best hydraulic solutions.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers on major projects and help support junior engineers within the business.
  • Support the national Hydraulics team on a variety of projects, varying in size, giving exposure to working with senior engineers in the field, enhancing skill set and technical knowledge.
  • Be involved with a variety of design services including; rainwater harvesting, sanitary plumbing and drainage, trade waste drainage, potable and non-potable water reticulation, hot and warm water systems, energy efficient and solar hot water heating, specialist water systems (reverse osmosis and demineralized) and water efficient designs.
Requirements
  • Relevant TAFE qualification or engineering degree alongside RPEV (or working towards).
  • Ideally, 5+ years' experience preferably working within a consulting environment with exposure to Australian standards and codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority on projects.
  • Full working knowledge of the MS Office suite with exposure to relevant industry software (Revit knowledge preferred, not essential).
  • Due to the project requirements of this role, Australian citizenship (or on the pathway) is preferred, but not essential.
