Food Service Assistant

The role of Food Service Assistant is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a vital role in supporting their overall well-being by contributing to their dining experiences.

This position involves assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area, and interacting with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during meal times.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Head Chef.
  • Serve meals to residents during meal times, ensuring that each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.
  • Set up the dining areas before meal times, ensuring tables are clean, and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.
  • Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during meal times, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
  • Friendly and effective communication abilities.
