Job Role:

The role of the Catering Assistant is crucial in enhancing the overall dining experience for residents. This involves creating a welcoming atmosphere during meal times and ensuring that each resident receives nourishing and enjoyable meals tailored to their individual needs.

  • Meal Preparation: The candidate will assist in preparing meals which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Head Chef.
  • Serving Meals: The successful applicant will be responsible for serving meals to residents during meal times, ensuring that each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.
  • Dining Room Setup: The catering assistant will be required to set up the dining areas before meal times, ensuring tables are clean and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
  • Dishwashing and Cleaning: The candidate will be responsible for washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area. They may also be required to help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas.
  • Resident Interaction: The successful applicant will interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during meal times, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.
