Catering Service Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of residents by contributing to their dining experiences. You will help create a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and work diligently to ensure that residents receive nourishing and enjoyable meals tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of a qualified chef or cook.
  • Meals Served: Help serve meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.
  • Dining Area Setup: Set up the dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen area. They may also help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas.
  • Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during mealtimes, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Be adaptable, passionate, and willing to learn.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
