As a mechanical fitter, you will be responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure maximum availability and reliability.

About the Role
  • This position involves conducting routine checks on plant machinery, identifying potential issues and taking corrective action to prevent downtime.
Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment, including Shredder, conveyors, chutes, skirts, bearings, and associated systems.
  • Attend to breakdowns promptly to minimize disruption and restore equipment functionality.
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, replacements, and upgrades in accordance with OEM standards and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, job cards, and work orders.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth handovers and effective communication.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or issues to prevent equipment failure and safety incidents.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to site and company safety standards.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitting Trade Qualification is essential.
  • Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance within a mining, quarrying, or heavy industrial setting.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to identify and repair complex mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.

This position operates on an afternoon shift, from 3 pm to 11:06 pm/12:30 am, subject to site requirements. Shift loading and overtime apply accordingly.
