
Youth Development Specialist

We are seeking casual Youth Workers to support and empower children and young people in our care programs. Our programs provide a safe and nurturing environment for young people who require accommodation and are unable to live with family or foster carers.
As a Youth Worker, you will work within the Individual Placement Arrangements (IPA) for 0-17 year olds; or in our Short Term Emergency Placements (STEP) for 12-17 year olds. You will be required to work shift work, including sleepovers, on an as needed basis.
You may also be offered opportunities to support in our Interim Care Model (ICM) or Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) spaces - depending on need. The successful applicant will work with team members from a trauma informed and strengths-based framework to develop and provide safety for all children and young people in your care.
- Develop holistic services to children, young people and their families
- Advocate on behalf of Aboriginal young people and their families to provide cultural support
- Build strong connections with Aboriginal agencies to support and strengthen families and cultural connections
This position is Level 3 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People to apply.
