The Opportunity

We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. This role involves designing engineering solutions for water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines.

Key responsibilities include reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, calculations, modeling, drafting oversight, and report preparation.

As a successful candidate, you will have experience working in a consulting environment, delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Your outstanding communication skills and ability to influence project outcomes will be crucial in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, and operational practices, along with relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
  • Experience in managing small to medium engineering design projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally
