About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our asset management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of maintenance programs across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and implement planned maintenance programs using Property Assessment Survey (PAS) data and local knowledge for allocated properties.
  • To ensure compliance with Australian Building Codes, Housing Portfolio standards, policies, and contract requirements when assigning work to contractors.
  • To conduct timely and accurate inspections according to the program and standards, maintaining records of inspections and required actions.
  • To build and maintain positive relationships with contractors to facilitate effective inspection and maintenance programs.
  • To identify and resolve compliance issues in collaboration with contractors, issuing necessary notices when required.
  • To report emerging issues to management and provide recommendations to improve asset program delivery and minimize impacts.

Requirements

  • A sound background in building maintenance or a related field, together with experience in contract administration, including preparing quotations or estimates.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements, standards, and policies, as well as the capacity to interpret and apply them.
  • Current working knowledge of the Australian Building Codes.
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills, with MS Project skills being highly desirable.
  • An understanding of Australian Building Codes, Australian Standards, Government or commercial probity, and contracting standards.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or sound construction building maintenance and/or building construction experience/exposure, together with field inspection experience and measurement of performance against standards.
  • A current driver's license.

Working Conditions

  • This is a contract role until October 2025, with possible extension.
  • The hourly pay rate is $56.07/hour + Super.
  • The work location is Newcastle, NSW.
  • The role involves working 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week.
  • The immediate start date applies.
