Fire and Security Manager

This position is responsible for ensuring the fire, medical, and security requirements of guests and staff are maintained through professional practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director Safety & Security with team development and day-to-day managerial responsibilities.
  • In the absence of the Director Safety & Security, assume the role and responsibilities for that position.
  • Maintain fire safety compliance, staff training and development, complete audits and risk assessments, investigations, assist with departmental timecard management, assist with the purchasing of equipment and consumables for the FLS department, support the Medical Centre, and work towards operational improvements.
  • Provide first aid assistance for injured persons and write accident and incident reports.
  • Welcome and conduct new team member orientation.
  • Participate in training programs, particularly Emergency Response Team & Fire Fighting training as required.
  • Interact with department and Resort staff in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit, and ensure effective two-way communication.
  • Deal effectively with guests and workplace colleagues from various cultures and backgrounds, displaying tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and assertiveness when required.
  • Deliver high-quality service to guests and staff in accordance with the Hayman Service Standards.
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid, and emergency procedures.
  • Seek opportunities to continually improve self and the department.
  • Monitor staffing to manage costs.
  • Patrold lobbies, corridors, and public areas, staff village and staff bar, industrial areas, and marina in accordance with patrol schedule.
  • Guide and support emergency response team members in emergency situations.
  • Be familiar with the location of fire indicator panels, fire detectors, and fire protection equipment and their operation within the establishment.
  • Provide records/reports pertaining to duties as required to the Director Safety & Security.
  • Report all hazards and risks to the Workplace Health, Safety & Environment Officer.
  • Log security incidents and accidents according to resort requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by Director Safety & Security.
