About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimating Manager to spearhead our estimating department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a high-performing estimating team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
- Develop and implement efficient estimating processes and systems to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and engineering teams to gather essential project information.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate optimal pricing to maximise project profitability.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality and accuracy in all estimating deliverables.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering professional development and growth.
Requirements
- Proven track record in civil construction estimating, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
