About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Estimator to join our team at Shackleton Duke Group. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in creating comprehensive and accurate estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects, including site development, building envelope, and M&E systems.
  • Break down project scopes into elemental work packages and apply costing through quantity take-offs and sub-contractor pricing.
  • Develop and maintain a costing database for future budgeting and estimate preparation.
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates on current and upcoming estimates and budgets.
  • Identify project risks and mitigate company exposure to them effectively.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate scope capture and project planning.
Requirements
  • Minimum of years of experience in the role of Construction Estimator within a General Contracting firm.
  • Proficient knowledge in Site Development, Building Envelope, and M&E Systems for ICI facilities.
  • Ability to break down a project to elemental scopes of work with complete sets of project documentation and preliminary conceptual designs.
  • Successful experience in estimating completed projects ranging in cost from $ to $ million.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software (CMi C or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in organizing construction data using the most recent Master Format.
Competencies
  • Depth of experience with ICI type facilities ground up, including site development.
  • Confident and personable communication with clients and sub-contractors.
  • Simultaneous management of multiple estimates of varying size and complexity.
  • Able to estimate high-level budgets as well as detailed line item estimates.
  • Able to instigate action from Sub-Trades and Vendors/Suppliers.
  • Highly competent and effective negotiator.
  • Effective writing and oral communication skills.
  • Successful at maintaining and growing client and vendor relationships.
