Your Role
As a Senior Estimator for Major Projects, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of developing and delivering precise cost estimates in alignment with company standards and within established timelines. This role is integral to collaborating effectively with Engineering Solutions, Project Managers, Estimators, and various stakeholders to ensure project cost estimates are accurate, budget-conscious, and timely.

Key Responsibilities
Your contributions will include:

  1. Providing expert engineering and cost advice, along with quality technical support to the team and the wider department.
  2. Reviewing technical specifications for each High-Level design project, addressing project constraints and deliverables, and ensuring all requirements are coordinated.
  3. Facilitating communication among all project and program stakeholders.
  4. Overseeing the production of estimations from project initiation through to completion.
  5. Updating the Estimation Lead and Group Lead on the status of estimations.
  6. Identifying technical risks and managing budget allocations.
  7. Offering technical guidance on complex issues by leveraging your expertise and judgment.
  8. Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing processes and procedures while adopting best practices.
  9. Maintaining cost and project libraries within estimation software.

Qualifications
We seek candidates with a blend of the following qualifications:

  1. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, though substantial experience will also be considered.
  2. Extensive experience in the civil, electrical, transmission, and/or distribution sectors.
  3. Self-driven with the ability to work independently, while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of various engineering disciplines and their implications on civil and structural design and construction.
  5. Proven ability to foster and cultivate relationships and partnerships within project teams and with external clients.
  6. Understanding of key customer and stakeholder needs and expectations.
  7. Exceptional organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  8. In-depth knowledge of Australian standards related to civil, structural, substation, and Transmission/Distribution.
  9. Familiarity with Expert Estimation software is advantageous.
  10. Capability to mentor and support a team to achieve objectives.
