Marble, a prominent Tier 1 civil subcontractor, is currently undergoing significant growth and is in search of a proactive Estimating Manager to lead their estimating division. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a company poised for substantial development and influence.

Role Overview:

In the capacity of Estimating Manager, you will oversee the entire estimating process, from the initial bid preparation to the final contract award. You will guide and develop a team of estimators, ensuring the prompt and precise submission of competitive bids for a wide range of major infrastructure initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Direct and inspire a high-achieving estimating team, promoting a culture of collaboration and results.
  2. Establish and refine effective estimating methodologies and systems to boost efficiency and precision.
  3. Compile thorough and competitive bids, which include quantity take-offs, cost evaluations, and risk analyses.
  4. Work closely with operations, project management, and engineering teams to collect vital project data.
  5. Assess subcontractor proposals and negotiate favorable pricing to enhance project profitability.
  6. Maintain a strong emphasis on quality and precision in all estimating outputs.
  7. Identify opportunities for cost reductions and process enhancements.
  8. Provide guidance and mentorship to the estimating team, supporting their professional development.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Demonstrated experience in civil construction estimating, with at least 10 years in a comparable position.
  2. Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  3. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Advanced knowledge of estimating software and tools.
  5. Robust commercial insight and negotiation expertise.
  6. Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  7. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
