Role Overview:In the capacity of Estimating Manager, you will oversee the entire estimating process, from proposal creation to contract finalization. You will guide and develop a team of estimators, ensuring that competitive bids are delivered accurately and promptly across a wide range of major infrastructure initiatives.
Key Duties:- Direct and nurture a high-achieving estimating team, promoting a culture of collaboration and success.
- Establish and refine effective estimating methodologies and systems to boost efficiency and precision.
- Compile detailed and competitive proposals, encompassing quantity take-offs, cost evaluations, and risk management.
- Work closely with operational, project management, and engineering teams to collect vital project data.
- Assess subcontractor proposals and negotiate favorable pricing to enhance project margins.
- Ensure a strong emphasis on quality and precision in all estimating outputs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions and process enhancements.
- Provide guidance and support to the estimating team, encouraging professional growth and development.
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction estimating, with at least 10 years in a comparable position.
- Proficient leadership and team management capabilities.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating software and tools.
- Strong business insight and negotiation proficiency.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
