Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Engineer to join our team in Sydney. As a Technical Services Engineer, you will use your outstanding problem-solving and customer service skills, along with your deep technical experience, to advise customers and solve their complex MongoDB problems.
You will be a specialist in the entire MongoDB ecosystem, including database server, drivers, our management suite, and services such as Cloud Manager. Our engineers combine their MongoDB expertise with passion, initiative, teamwork, and a great sense of humor to achieve exceptional results for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical support to our customers, resolving complex issues related to MongoDB architecture, performance, recovery, security, and more.
- Work alongside our largest customers, solving their complex issues and providing expert guidance on standard methodologies for running MongoDB at scale.
- Advocate for customers' needs, working with our product management and development teams to ensure their requirements are met.
- Contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.
- Share knowledge with the team, either via informal one-to-one conversations or training and workshop sessions, to increase the efficiency of our customers and other team members.
- 4+ years of proven experience in a technical role, with a strong focus on diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Broad awareness of customer workloads and use cases, including performance, availability, and scalability.
- Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read code and basic coding/scripting ability in one or more languages, such as Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, etc.
- Good understanding of Networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, etc.
- Storage engineering experience, including NAS, RAID, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching.
- Experience supporting complex mission-critical product applications and database systems (RDMBS or non-relational).

- In 3 months, you'll have gained a deep understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem.

- In 12 months, you will be a part of a technical experts group within MongoDB and will be helping your peer engineers in advance diagnostics.
