Project Overview

Civmec, a leading Australian-owned engineering and construction services provider, has secured a major contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project. The project involves the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit, and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.

The project includes both Greenfields and Brownfields scope, with a 17-kilometre overland conveying system transferring ore from the new primary crusher to the existing Paraburdoo COS. The Brownfields scope involves extensive modifications to the current Paraburdoo COS and downstream conveying system, including addition of new feed points at the COS, new ore transfer equipment, conveyor replacements, upgrades, drive replacements, and other general modifications.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Construction Manager to join our Project Delivery Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing project scope, client interaction, and involved in all aspects of project execution, including construction, quality, commercial, and management activities.

  • Liaise with client representatives and internal stakeholders regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling, and coordinating deliveries;
  • Attend operations meetings and prepare weekly status reports, including work schedules;
  • Review and approve technical deviation/query requests and maintain TDQR register;
  • Take timely corrective action to address any issued non-conformances and maintain company standards;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, civil engineering, or construction management;
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience as a Project Civil Engineer;
  • Previous project experience on installation projects, ideally in the mining sector;
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite;
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
