Trust Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Trust Accountant to join our team at a&co Recruitment Partners. As a Trust Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating trust-related transactions across our national offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the accurate and timely management of trust accounts in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage daily trust processes for all offices, including bank reconciliations, trust receipts/payments, PEXA transactions, and trust transfer requests.
  • Open, close, and maintain client investment and controlled money accounts as needed.
  • Lead trust-related projects to ensure best practices are implemented across the firm.
  • Prepare month-end trust reports for all offices.
  • Calculate and organise payments for statutory deposits and combined trust accounts.
  • Complete Statements of Trust Money and assist with external and internal audits.
  • Address general trust queries and notify of any changes in authorised signatories.
Requirements:
  • Relevant trust-related experience in a legal or similar environment.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to execute trust management responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions from partners and staff confidently.
  • Discretion and tact in handling sensitive information.
