Financial Accountant Opportunity at Thomson Geer

Thomson Geer, a leading Australian Corporate law firm, is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Adelaide. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our financial processes and end-of-month reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly Business Activity Statements for the partnership and service trust, including tax adjustment schedules.
  • Provide detailed analysis and prepare end-of-month journals, including account reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly balance sheets and cash movement summaries.
  • Perform regular reviews of accounts payable and work-in-progress balances.
  • Update the finance system, ensuring data is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Undertake banking activities as required.
  • Prepare annual partnership and service trust FBT returns.
  • Liaise regularly with external accountants, auditors, and the ATO to provide timely financial information.
  • Participate in the annual Budget process in consultation with the Finance Manager.
  • Provide or assist in the provision of a range of financial management and accounting advisory, analysis, and reporting services to designated areas and the firm as a whole.
