Job Title: Forensic Clinician

Job Summary:

Job Description:

The Forensic Clinician plays a critical role in delivering specialized clinical services to individuals who have committed violent or sexual offenses. This position involves conducting risk assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating group programs aimed at rehabilitation. The clinician is responsible for preparing detailed reports and offering expert advice to help manage individuals within the justice system, contributing to broader community safety efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and interviews to determine suitable intervention strategies.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate group therapy sessions targeting behavioral change in offenders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive treatment plans and clinical documentation.
  • Prepare professional reports for use by various authorities and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance to colleagues and liaise with other professionals as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and research activities.
  • Contribute to policy development and organizational initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and offender rehabilitation models.
  • Experience conducting clinical assessments and creating individualized case plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to work well in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Eligible for registration or membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., psychology, social work, mental health).
