About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Clinical Specialist to join our team at Western Health. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a critical role in assessing, treating, and supporting individuals with severe mental illness who are at high risk of violence or aggression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective treatment plans to mitigate risk and promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, consumers, and carers, to provide person-centered care and support.
  • Develop and maintain optimal clinical pathways and relationships between services, including referral and assessment pathways, treatment, and risk management.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on mental health and wellbeing issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care and services.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience working in public mental health settings, with a focus on forensic services or complex mental illness.
  • Advanced risk assessment and report writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective recommendations.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians, consumers, and carers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and services.
